PENCARROW - QUEENSTOWN
Located on 4 acres overlooking Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables, Pencarrow Bed and Breakfast commands its hillside site.
Named after New Zealand's first lighthouse, Pencarrow has been designed with the guest in mind. You are surrounded by comfort both in the guest areas and in your private suite. They offer guests a gracious and relaxing atmosphere and the very best in personal and friendly, yet unobtrusive, service. The four guests suites have been appointed with every imaginable comfort and amenity.
Each suite has a sitting room, writing desk with house stationery, magazines and books for guest perusal, mini bar, tea and coffee facilities, biscuits, fresh flowers, remote controlled Sky (cable) television, remote controlled VCR and Stereo/CD systems, direct-dial phones, and iron/ironing board.
The beds are king and super king sized. In addition, each down stair suite has a queen sized sofa sleeper. Fall asleep on top of a lamb's wool electric underlay or under an all season wool comforter.
Each suite is equipped with a guest service guide filled with every bit of information on Pencarrow, Queenstown, Battery Hill, activities, and necessities. The en-suites are equipped with an oversized jet spa bath, a separate shower, double vanity, heated towel rail, under-tile heating, hair dryer, slippers, and guest amenity basket. Both terry cloth robes and colona robes with 30% wool are provided for those cooler days and your en-suite is furnished with some of the world's finest toiletries.
Pencarrow has been planned with the rainy day in mind because you won't want to leave! Play billiards or a game of darts in the Snooker Room or cuddle up next to huge picture windows in the lounge and get lost in Queenstown's scenery. Curl up in the "New River Lounge and Bar" with open fireplace, large picture windows, and majestic views of the Remarkable mountain range and Lake Wakatipu.
Enjoy a country breakfast in the cozy "Dining Room" with antique fireplace and floor to ceiling bay window.
From the wine cellar they offer a selection of fine local and international wines for sale.
The ski storage room is available to make your skiing holiday more pleasant and ski drying facilities are also available.
The "Kiwi Room" is our concierge room with brochures, restaurant menus, maps/direction cards, videos, books, games, and a few tourist items for sale.
They also offer golf clubs and gold mining pans. Make Pencarrow your home away from home!
The outdoor guest areas have been created just for you and include several local schist flagstone and timber deck patios.
The extensive gardens of native and introduced flora allow space to find a quiet corner for two. Join fellow friends under the stars around the outdoor fireplace and gas heaters with soft music in the background. Reflect on the day at "Pondering Point" or unwind in the spa pool. Play ping-pong, horseshoes, croquet, or enjoy a light workout on the exercise machine. A bit of soft music, a drink of your choice and hors d'oeuvre, outdoor heaters and a fireplace nestled into the hillside.
And what about sharing stories with new friends? What a wonderful way to wind down a day!

The mature front garden faces Lake Wakatipu. Filled with many New Zealand natives and spring blooming rhododendrons and camellias, it is seen from each and every guest suite. It is the oldest garden on the property and basks in summer sun.
The north side of our property is a private "Battery Hill Park". With terraced gardens, mature trees, New Zealand natives, singing birds, BBQ and picnic tables, and quiet corners to sit, you will be spellbound by the views.
